Mornings - The foundation of EMDR Therapy
Mornings of training offer lecture-style instruction to build a solid foundation in EMDR therapy. You'll be introduced to the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) Model, the 8 phases of EMDR therapy, and the 3-pronged approach focusing on past, present, and future. In Part 2, treatment planning expands to cover special topics, including anxiety, pain, addictions, and recent events.
EMDR training manuals and slide decks are provided in PDF format via an online learning platform.
Dr. Penner Hutton is a dynamic speaker who brings enthusiasm to EMDR therapy training, guiding participants with care and clarity.
Afternoons - Practice EMDR!
Afternoons are dedicated to practicum experiences in breakout rooms, where you’ll work in groups of 3 or 4 to engage in practical EMDR exercises and observe EMDR in action. You'll rotate through the roles of therapist, client, and observer to practice different aspects of the therapy. Faculty members (EMDRIA Consultants or Consultants-in-Training) will guide and support you throughout, ensuring a rich, hands-on experience.
Small and large group debriefs, discussions, and Q&A sessions will further enrich your experience.
We’re here to support you every step of the way.
-
Group Consultations!
Four Group Consultations (2.5 hours each) are interspersed throughout training to support you in integrating EMDR therapy concepts into your clinical work. You will have the opportunity to present cases, ask questions, and seek clarification.
Valuable insights emerge from discussions with peers and an experienced EMDRIA-approved EMDR Consultant or Consultant-in-Training.
One session between Parts 1 & 2 (2.5 hrs)
Three sessions following Part 2 (2.5 hrs each)
Options for group consultation will be provided after registration is completed and range from the week of June 23 to October.
